After graduating, only one thing was clear to me: I had to get out of “narrow” Austria as quickly as possible. 
In the aftermath of the ’68 movement, Paris was a breath of fresh air and—alongside years of tour guide jobs—the perfect preparation for managing the unexpected.


Nothing was planned, but nothing was accidental.

Not becoming Managing Director of the Swiss vacation rental provider Interhome in Austria. Not the switch to direct sales, combined with invaluable experience, in which I discovered a secret weapon in what was then the still-unknown field of direct marketing. A weapon that took me from being the industry’s villain—with massive drops in revenue—to quadrupling sales after two years. And that made me the object of desire for major marketing agencies. Not five successful years at an international agency as a springboard to founding my own relationship marketing agency in 1991, which has since grown into the third-largest advertising agency in Austria.

It was no coincidence that I founded IQONIC in 2020. ‍
