Many years of leadership in corporate and crisis communications, as well as brand PR, serving as press spokesperson and in CEO positioning for international brand companies: Swarovski, Palmers Beteiligungs AG (Palmers, Wolford, Steffl, Gerngross Group, Hugo Boss, Helmut Lang, Palmers AG Real Estate) Culture/Tourism: Salzburg Festival (drama), Residenztheater Munich, most recently the Spanish Riding School Vienna
PR today means developing and producing a coherent PR content strategy that is aligned with users’ needs and the company’s goals. Stories and facts that are interesting enough to be published by media outlets and multipliers online and offline, thus ensuring a high degree of independence for companies and brands.
With the rise of social media in the mid-2000s, the end of traditional media relations also arrived. Before that, entrepreneurs were more or less forced to speak with traditional print, TV, or radio media to gain media presence. It was a manageable, more predictable work process.
Today, anyone can easily get their messages out to people worldwide in one fell swoop via digital platforms and channels.
The quantum leap into a boundless world of digital information through online and social media channels has turned PR work almost completely on its head and changed my approach to corporate communications.
After years as the corporate spokesperson for Palmers, I was lucky enough to shape and manage corporate communications at Swarovski's international headquarters in Switzerland during this period of change for several years, which was a huge challenge and at the same time the greatest job of my professional career.
The need to react quickly and professionally to avoid a wildfire online – and then again the risky, old-school conversation with a journalistic veteran who wanted background information on a critical topic, enriched my wealth of experience on all media levels on a daily basis.
Nothing matters more to me than living the values that are crucial for relationships of any kind: these are respect, trust, tolerance, openness, straightforwardness, empathy, and a fundamental understanding of the other person's work.
Even before Swarovski at Palmers and afterwards at the Spanish Riding School, it was the long-standing or new, lasting and unchanged, good relationships with partners that brought us our small and large joint successes.
