Change is a constant that we must respond to as best we can in light of exponentially advancing technological development.
Alongside sports, it was always important to me not to neglect my education. I completed a technical college (HTL) specializing in mechanical engineering. After cycling, I added postgraduate training in sales, marketing, and executive master's studies. Learning never stops.
The transition from professional sports to the business world was exciting. I started as a freelance editor and photographer for a special-interest cycling magazine, whose editor-in-chief role I later took over. My path then led me to roles as retail and international M&A manager in a mineral oil corporation, risk management in the insurance sector, and senior manager in a bank, followed by CEO positions in wholesale and human resources. For more than 15 years, I have also worked regularly as an independent consultant.
A common thread runs through it all: the transformation of business models. In my experience, this works best when people can be inspired by the “mental concept of what is possible.” Because human beings are the “big bang” of economic action and therefore of economic exchange.
None of this could really be planned, but I was always aware of one thing: if I focus the strength and consistency required by professional sports on my activities in business and put myself in a position to seize opportunities as they arise, success will come sooner or later. In my view, this principle applies equally to companies: focusing an organization’s energies on the essential fields of action, as shown in our Performance Triangle. And consistently “staying the course,” in which we are pleased to accompany you on your journey.
